About the Project:
This project was completed by Michelle Chiles, a Simmons College MLIS student as her final internship project. Research was conducted using the RCC Archives collections, materials were selected, digitized, and currated into this online Omeka.net exhibit space. The scope of the project covers only a fraction of the records available in the RCC Archives and Special Collections holdings.
About the Archives & Special Collections:
The RCC Archives is the steward of the historic, academic, administrative, financial, and student activities-related records of the College. The mission of the RCC Archives is to collect, preserve, and make accessible these records, and to promote an understanding of the RCC legacy, past, present, and future.
Special Collections Mission:
The RCC Special Collections strives to provide deeper understanding of the complexity, challenges, and community strengths of Greater Roxbury (Roxbury, Dorchester, and Boston’s South End). It collects, preserves, and makes accessible records of community organizations and individuals relevant to the cultural, political, economic, and social history of this area.
